The need for a qualified workforce is imperative for a thriving community. With the goal to get more learners to and through a postsecondary education, Governor Kitzhaber passed legislation at the end of 2011 with the goal that by the year 2025, Oregon will ensure that:
• 40 percent of adults will have earned a bachelor's degree or higher.
• 40 percent of adults will have earned an associate degree or post-secondary credential.
• 20 percent of adults will have earned a high school diploma, modified high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma.
It is through partnerships in the community that our schools, both public and private, have committed to developing and supporting a highly qualified workforce, dedicated to ensuring academic success for all Hillsboro students.
At the October 14th Business Forum, join Pacific University President Dr. Lesley Hallick, PCC President Dr. Jeremy Brown and Hillsboro School District Superintendent Mike Scott as we explore these key partnerships to ensure the next generation workforce is prepared for life after high school.
The Business Forum is a monthly program occurring every second Tuesday of the month from September to June from 11:30 A.M to 1:00 P.M. at the Walters Cultural Arts Center (527 E. Main, 97123). Lunch is provided by Reedville Catering, RSVP is required. Cost to attend is $20/members and $30/nonmembers. At-the-door registrations are $25 or $30/nonmembers. Questions?
