For some artists their studios are usually not open to the public as they exhibit their work at galleries and other venues. During the Open Studio tours the public can see where the artist works and purchase works directly from the artist. The Washington County Museum is hosting the "Preview Sneak Peek and Sale" through September 27 at the downtown Hillsboro location, 120 E Main. 40 artists have brought in samples of their work and agreed to donate a portion of the sales of their items back to the Museum. Artwork ranges from watercolors to mixed media pieces, jewelry, sculpture, and more. August 16 is a special free artist's reception from 3:00-5:00 P.M. with many of the artists on hand.
