You may know that camas is a native perennial plant. You may even know that camas was a staple food source of the Kalapuya Indians. But send your child to Native American camp this summer and they will be able to teach you a thing or two about camas! Native American camp will cover information about local tribes past and present including the opportunity to use traditional digging sticks, how an earth oven was used to bake camas and grinding with mortars and pestles. We will be building, crafting, playing games and running around outside (it is summer after all!). Sign your child up today!
