Join the Young Professionals group for a Lunch & Learn focused on stress management through sensory and nervous system regulation, presented in partnership with Melodie Ethel-King, OTR/L, of New Horizons Wellness Services.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

Describe how the nervous system influences stress, focus, and emotional responses in everyday work and life situations.
Identify personal stress and overload signals related to sensory input, routines, and environmental demands.
Apply practical, sensory-based nervous system tools to improve regulation during common high-stress moments (e.g., meetings, deadlines, transitions, and after-work decompression).
Develop a personalized regulation plan that supports sustainable energy, productivity, and well-being rather than burnout.

About Melodie Ethel-King:

Melodie Ethel-King, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist with over 30 years of experience helping people understand how their nervous systems impact stress, focus, energy, and daily performance. Her work centers on practical, real-life strategies grounded in sensory processing and self-regulation—especially for people navigating demanding work, school, and life transitions.
Melodie is licensed in Oregon, certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), and holds an ADHD–Rehabilitation Services Provider (ADHD-RSP) Certification. She is known for her engaging, down-to-earth teaching style and her ability to make complex concepts feel accessible, relevant, and empowering.

Lunch, including sandwiches and snacks, will be provided. Please contact Jessica or Ashley in advance with any dietary restrictions.

Candles & Embroidery Workshop (Ages 7–14)

Join us for a creative, hands-on workshop where kids and teens will make something both cozy and personalized! We’ll begin the class by pouring custom candles, choosing from a variety of scents and learning the basics of candle making. While the candles set, participants will dive into embroidery, adding fun floral designs and decorative accents to an item they bring from home.

Our instructors will guide each student step-by-step through embroidery techniques, including how to stitch flowers, patterns, and creative details onto jean pockets, beanie hats, tote bags, or other fabric items of their choice. No prior experience is needed—this class is perfect for beginners and curious creators alike.

Class cost is $50

Looking for a creative way to spend Spring Break? This hands-on teen camp is all about self-expression and making something totally you.

Campers will start by designing and pouring their own personalized candle, choosing from a variety of scents to create a custom blend they’ll love. Then it’s time to turn wearable art into reality with DIY painted denim. Teens will bring their own denim piece (jean jacket, jeans, tote, or shorts) and learn painting techniques, layout tips, and design inspiration to transform it into a one-of-a-kind statement piece.

This camp encourages creativity, confidence, and individuality in a fun, supportive studio environment—perfect for kids who love art, fashion, or trying something new.

Class fees are $50
